Your Purpose

As an Assistant Bartender, you bring energy, precision, and creativity to our onboard bar operations, ensuring a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for our guests. You assist the Bartender in supervising the assigned bar area, upholding exceptional service standards while optimizing profitability. Your passion for mixology, attention to detail, and ability to manage high-paced service environments make you a key contributor to delivering an unforgettable cruise experience. With your knowledge of bar techniques and cocktail craftsmanship, you help shape memorable moments for every guest on board.

Your Impact

Your role extends beyond just serving drinks-you are instrumental in creating a lively and welcoming ambiance where guests feel relaxed and entertained. By supporting the Bartender in overseeing bar service, stock control, and sanitation compliance, you help maintain smooth operations while enhancing guest satisfaction. Your ability to efficiently handle high-demand service periods, engage with guests, and ensure beverage quality directly contributes to the ship's reputation for excellence. Through your teamwork and expertise, you help drive onboard revenue and elevate the overall guest experience.

Your Journey So Far

You have a proven background in the bar industry, with experience in:
A shipboard role as an Assistant Bar Manager or managing multiple bar locations serving large crowds on land.
Hands-on bar operations, including beverage preparation, inventory control, and staff coordination.
A deep understanding of mixology, bar techniques, and cocktail craftsmanship.
Excelling in fast-paced environments, where your communication skills ensure smooth service.
Working seamlessly within a team to maintain efficient and high-quality bar operations.

Your Essentials

To succeed in this role, you must possess:
Relevant qualifications in hospitality, bartending, or a related field.
Fluent in English (oral and written) and at least one additional European language.
Proven experience as a shipboard Assistant Bar Manager or in managing multiple bar locations serving large crowds on land.
Strong knowledge of bar techniques, cocktail preparation, and beverage service.
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and guest service.

MSC Cruises has grown exponentially since 2003. In such a short time, we have built a fleet of 22 modern and most environmentally advanced ships!

With our constant expansion, our fleet will grow in capacity with the arrival of seven new ships in three different classes by 2027.
One of our latest ships – MSC World Europa – was delivered in 2022, inaugurating the World Class. It is our largest cruise ship to date, with a capacity of over 6,700 passengers, served by more than 2,000 crew members.

In 2023 we inaugurated the MSC Euribia equipped with the best and latest environmental technology and bestowed with a highly-innovative design.

In 2023 MSC Cruises entered the Luxury segment by launching its first of four Explora Journeys ships.

Recruitment Prospects
With three new mega-ships and four Luxury ships to be built and delivered between 2023 and 2027, the biggest and most important challenge for MSC Cruises is to find, recruit and train a high number of new crew members needed to provide the service, fun and safety that have become hallmarks of MSC Cruises.

This massive project is already well under way. The Human Resources Team is not only working to recruit the best talents but is also visiting our manning agencies and hiring partners around the world to ensure that the right people and facilities are in place to prepare this ‘army’ of new crew members for their life at sea.
