Responsibilities:

* Receive, handle, and convert meetings, events and group inquiries.
* Plan events in conjunction with the client.
* Present and sell available and suitable banquet/event options to the highest possible standard.
* Coordinate and carry on venue viewing with potential clients.
* Ensure that administrative work is up-to-date and maintain updated files on active accounts within their area.
* Establish and maintain a high level of communication and effective relations with colleagues and clients.
* Collect information and build a database of clients' history.
* Ensure that all refused business is recorded with reasons for refusal or decline.
* Issue contracts and function orders for confirmed business
* Assist the Events Manager in the production of weekly and monthly reports, statistics and forecasts.

Requirements:

* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position
* Previous experience in hotel operations is a must
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
* Outgoing personality and smart appearance
* Excellent verbal and written skills in both English and Maltese language
* A problem solver able to "think on their feet."
* A natural leader who demonstrates attention to detail
* A people person able to work in a team, and flexible hours
* Computer literate
