Job Description
The Head Sommelier at Villa Haven is responsible for curating an exceptional wine and beverage experience for our guests. This role oversees all aspects of the resort's wine program, including selection, procurement, storage, and service. The Head Sommelier plays a pivotal role in enhancing guest satisfaction by providing expert recommendations and ensuring high standards of beverage service across all dining outlets.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Head Sommelier or senior sommelier in a luxury hotel, resort, or fine dining establishment.
- Extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, and beverages from around the world, including grape varietals, regions, and vintages.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and colleagues.
- Certification from a recognized sommelier program (e.g., Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET) is highly desirable.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
