JOB PURPOSE

MSC Cruises is the world's third-largest cruise brand as well as the leader in Europe, South America, the Gulf region, and Southern Africa with more market share in addition to deployed capacity than any other player. MSC Cruises - the contemporary brand - has a modern fleet of 22 cruise ships with three new vessels due to be launched in 2025, 2026, and 2027.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Adobe AEM Solution Architect to join our growing Digital Technology team within a Digital Transformation context. The Adobe AEM Solution Architect is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and optimized Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions for complex, enterprise-level projects. This role requires a strong technical background in AEM architecture, integration, and performance optimization, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions that meet business objectives. The individual will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring that AEM solutions are scalable, secure, and future-proof.
The position is based in Naples or Milan office, with up to 2 days per week of remote work.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Solution Design and Architecture: Lead the design and development of a comprehensive and complex AEM solution, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements. Oversee the entire solution lifecycle, from architecture design to implementation.
* Enterprise-level Architecture: Design and architect large-scale AEM implementation, ensuring scalability, performance, and flexibility. Integrate AEM with other enterprise systems such as CRM, marketing tools and other connected systems.
* Technical Consultancy: Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders regarding the most effective use of AEM to meet business needs. Translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with overall digital technology & IT strategy.
* Team Leadership and Mentoring: Lead and challenge system integrator teams composed by architects and developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and technical standards.
* Performance Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize the AEM solution for performance, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and capable of handling high traffic volumes. Implement caching strategies and load balancing techniques.
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, designers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and according to technical specifications.
* Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies within the Adobe ecosystem. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in AEM solutions and development processes.
* Governance and Compliance: Ensure that the AEM implementation adhere to security standards, industry regulations, and data protection requirements, such as GDPR.
* Training and Mentorship: Provide ongoing training and technical support to internal teams, promoting the adoption and optimal use of Adobe AEM solution within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)

* 10+ years expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solution architecture roles, including deep hands-on experience with AEM Sites and Assets.
* Proven ability to architect and implement complex, enterprise-level AEM solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with business objectives. This should include single domain architecture and implementation experience. Multi-domain to single-domain transition experience will be a plus.
* Strong background in solution architecture, with a focus on modular design, reusable components and maintainable codebases.
* Advanced knowledge of web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs, along with familiarity with front-end frameworks and content delivery strategies.
* Comprehensive experience in integrating AEM with enterprise systems, such as CRM (e.g., Salesforce), marketing automation platform and tools (e.g. Adobe RT-CDP)
* Strong performance optimization capabilities, including implementation of caching strategies, load balancing, and content delivery enhancements for high-traffic environments.
* Familiarity with security and compliance standards, ensuring that AEM implementations adhere to regulations such as GDPR and internal security protocols.
* Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, particularly in Adobe Cloud, Azure and AWS environments, including cost optimization, performance tuning, and high availability configurations.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor development teams, promoting best practices, code quality, and architectural consistency across projects.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of interacting effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
* Analytical mindset and problem-solving orientation, with a proactive approach to identifying risks and proposing innovative, efficient solutions.
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with a solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle and iterative delivery processes.
* Relevant Adobe certifications (e.g., Adobe Certified Expert - AEM Sites Architect, AEM Developer) are strongly preferred.
* Agility and Adaptability: Comfortable working in Agile environments (incl. SAFe 6.0.) and adapting quickly to changing priorities and technologies.
* Master's degree in degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Economic Science, Statistic or similar.
* Fluent in English, any other EU languages would be an advantage.
* Availability to travel.

With our constant expansion, our fleet will grow in capacity with the arrival of seven new ships in three different classes by 2027.

Recruitment Prospects
With three new mega-ships and four Luxury ships to be built and delivered between 2023 and 2027, the biggest and most important challenge for MSC Cruises is to find, recruit and train a high number of new crew members needed to provide the service, fun and safety that have become hallmarks of MSC Cruises.

This massive project is already well under way.
