Job Purpose
In line with business guidelines and needs, the Shore Excursions Operations Specialist provides operations support, analysis and coordination to MSC Cruises Shore Excursions on board the ships, managing the excursions programme with local providers.
Key Accountabilities
*Work on the availability of the excursions for each ship, checking the allotment, any deadline and guides availability with the local providers;
*Work in agreement with Corporate Tour Managers in Geneva, dealing with the prepayment of services to be considered for specific reasons (e.g. venue, tickets, vehicles etc.);
*Check the contracted excursions Geneva Shorex Product Development and technical sheets provided by the Operators, so that they will comply with the excursion descriptions;
*Send operational instructions to the ships and prepaid bookings/nationality breakdowns to the Operators and ships;
*Work with Corporate Tour Managers and solve issues arising during the excursion, also on last minute basis and revise Shorex programme in case of unforeseen event or itinerary change, supporting the ship with complain requests from the guests;
*Check cruise timetable with UK Port Ops Dept and request info or change about call timings for operational reasons;
*Check with Shorex Group and Setup Team the allotment to be loaded in the system in order to satisfy the request from groups or individual guests;
*Request ship report with feedback about the operations and guests' satisfactions and have follow-up with the Operator in order to improve the products for future calls;
*Check with local suppliers any restriction or rules about MSC Bike Excursions Project.
Qualifications (skills, competences, experience)
*At least 2 years' experience in the Cruise industry or tour operator in worldwide shore excursion operations;
*Fluent English; any other EU language is considered an advantage;
*Strong command of Microsoft Office;
*Excellent multitasking and team building skills;
*Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure due to last minute event requesting prompt action;
*Availability to travel for business trips (30%);
*Operative support on call availability during the weekends and holidays.

MSC Cruises has grown exponentially since 2003. In such a short time, we have built a fleet of 22 modern and most environmentally advanced ships!
With our constant expansion, our fleet will grow in capacity with the arrival of seven new ships in three different classes by 2027.
One of our latest ships – MSC World Europa – was delivered in 2022, inaugurating the World Class. It is our largest cruise ship to date, with a capacity of over 6,700 passengers, served by more than 2,000 crew members.

Recruitment Prospects
With three new mega-ships and four Luxury ships to be built and delivered between 2023 and 2027, the biggest and most important challenge for MSC Cruises is to find, recruit and train a high number of new crew members needed to provide the service, fun and safety that have become hallmarks of MSC Cruises.
This massive project is already well under way.
