Your Purpose

Our Executive Chefs contribute to delivering the most memorable cruise and culinary experiences to our Guests by leading their galley teams, in line with corporate offices guidelines, to offer excellent products to our guests.
As an Executive Sous Chef, you'll bring your expertise to inspire, guide, and elevate our galley teams, delivering exceptional gastronomic moments that delight our guests.
You'll oversee kitchen operations, ensuring that every plate meets the high standards of creativity, flavor, and presentation that define our brand.

Your Impact

Your leadership and technical expertise will play a pivotal role in the success of our culinary operations, shaping an exceptional onboard dining experience for thousands of guests daily. As an Executive Sous Chef, you will manage and mentor a dynamic team of chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards while optimizing inventory and supply chain operations to minimize waste and maximize efficiency. Collaborating closely with the Executive Chef, you will bring a culinary vision to life that consistently exceeds expectations.

Your Journey So Far

Proven previous onboard experience as an Executive Sous Chef in a cruise line
A solid track record of managing large-scale kitchen operations
Strong leadership abilities.
Expertise in multiple cuisines and familiarity with dietary preferences and allergens.
Strong communication skills to foster a collaborative and motivated team.
Commitment to maintaining hygiene and safety standards.

Your Essentials

To qualify for this position, you must:
Proven experience as an Executive Sous Chef within the cruise industry.
Fluent English, with excellent communication skills to interact with both kitchen staff and guests.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire kitchen staff.
Ability to succeed in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and methods.
Excellent understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
A positive, can-do attitude with a passion for guest service and teamwork.
Good communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

The company

MSC Cruises has grown exponentially since 2003. In such a short time, we have built a fleet of 22 modern and most environmentally advanced ships!

With our constant expansion, our fleet will grow in capacity with the arrival of seven new ships in three different classes by 2027.
One of our latest ships – MSC World Europa – was delivered in 2022, inaugurating the World Class. It is our largest cruise ship to date, with a capacity of over 6,700 passengers, served by more than 2,000 crew members.

In 2023 we inaugurated the MSC Euribia equipped with the best and latest environmental technology and bestowed with a highly-innovative design.

In 2023 MSC Cruises entered the Luxury segment by launching its first of four Explora Journeys ships.

Recruitment Prospects
With three new mega-ships and four Luxury ships to be built and delivered between 2023 and 2027, the biggest and most important challenge for MSC Cruises is to find, recruit and train a high number of new crew members needed to provide the service, fun and safety that have become hallmarks of MSC Cruises.

This massive project is already well under way. The Human Resources Team is not only working to recruit the best talents but is also visiting our manning agencies and hiring partners around the world to ensure that the right people and facilities are in place to prepare this ‘army’ of new crew members for their life at sea.
