Job Description

What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Director of Food & Beverage to join the pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Director of Food & Beverage, the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage supports directing the Food & Beverage strategy of the hotel while supporting the Food & Beverage day-to-day tasks. The Assistant Director of Food & Beverage assures the hotel service is true to the SLS brand by fostering a team culture in which its members feel empowered to make decisions and take responsibility for their workload and professional development.

  • Drive revenue through strategic management of commercial initiatives with the Director of Food & Beverage.
  • Take responsibility for the branding (in accordance with SLS’s brand), revenue and management of food & beverage colleagues in partnership with the food & beverage leaders.
  • Ensures that regular, on-going communication occurs in all areas of food and beverage.
  • Inspire staff, provide guidance and training, and address any performance issues.
  • Contribute to the hiring process, conduct performance appraisals, and make personnel-related decisions.
  • Collaborate on financial forecasting and budgeting for the department. Analyzes financial reports and statements to evaluate Food and Beverage performance relative to budgetary targets.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor pricing, and sales strategies to inform decision-making.
  • Support the Director of Food and Beverage in various administrative tasks, including departmental reports and strategic planning.
  • Assists in the inventory management and ongoing maintenance of hotel operating equipment and other assets.
  • Establishes clear expectations and holds the food and beverage leadership team accountable for exemplifying desired service standards.
  • Facilitates the integration of new hires into the department through orientation programs and tailored training initiatives to enable successful job performance.


Qualifications

What we are looking for...

  • Degree with emphasis in Hospitality/Restaurants management.
  • +4 years experience in hospitality within hotels/restaurants with high volume of food & beverage operations in a management position.
  • Knowledge of local market will be a plus.
  • Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the company's values.
  • Proficient knowledge of computer systems such as: Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook is required
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high level attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in Spanish and English.
