POSITION SUMMARY / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Meets and exceeds guest expectations and ensures complete guest satisfaction;
  • Provides guests with port and tour information;
  • Available to guests for tour information and tour sales as well as private shore activities
  • Oversees the dispatching of tours
  • Ensures a smooth disembarkation procedure for guests
  • Socializes with guests when time permitting
  • Demonstrates genuine concern for guests’ well-being at all times
  • Prepares tour schedule prior to each cruise along with the Manager
  • Prepares all printed material for upcoming voyages
  • During the course of the contract the Manager can request the assistant Manager to perform one or more presentations in training in order to be considered for promotion to the Manager’s position.
  • Maintains updated and accurate filing system for reference;
  • Distributes Visitors Lists for the boarding of agents and Tourist Information Personnel
  • Performs all other duties as requested by supervisor or as listed in SOP Manual – Front Office;
  • The Assistant Manager is in charge of the front desk and its activities. He/she will be responsible for the proper training of new coming staff
  • Delegate duties to the destination staff when needed
  • In cooperation with the Manager he/she will maximize revenue and minimize operating expenses without negatively affecting product for guest and crew
  • Responsible for settlements of accounts with tour operators with the approval of the Manager
  • Ensures adequate inventory of supplies for the tour office at all times. Makes the inventory for supplies for the upcoming cruise via MXP
  • Conducts appraisals of direct reporting staff together with Destinations Manager
  • Promotes, participates in and actively suggests enhancements of the Signature Service program

EDUCATION

  1. Creating memories and positive experiences for guests
  2. Presenting yourself professionally
  3. Anticipating guest needs
  4. Completing guests requests and needs
  5. Handling guest challenges
  6. Improving the guest experience
  7. Monitor the practical application of the Company's policy, procedures and instructions.
  8. Immediately report to the Master any instances where the vessel is unable or fails to comply with any Company’s policy, procedure, instruction, and any safety, environmental, or security requirement.
  9. Participate in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions from ship’s command
    • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Fidelio and MXP
    • Travel industry and previous shipboard experience as Assistant Tour Manager required;
    • Understanding of the highest level of service;
    • Excellent administrative skills;
